What Is Revster, and Why Are We Building It?

Work has changed.

We’ve lived through two tectonic shifts over the past four years that have, and will continue to change, the way that we work, build and live for decades to come.

The first shift was caused by the COVID pandemic, which forced teams to learn how to work in the cloud. When the physical world closed, businesses everywhere had to quickly adapt and continue working. To do this, we leveraged the tools that we had available to us: Slack, Zoom, Teams, email, etc. It turns out we could be pretty productive remotely, for the most part.

But the shift to remote didn’t come without costs. It’s harder to keep teams aligned and swimming in the same direction in a remote world. We all know this, and occasionally someone even dares to say it out loud. While some types of work are done more efficiently in a remote environment than in person, we’ve also lost  collaboration, and we’ve lost the team-wide alignment that comes from being in the same space at the same time.

The second shift we’re living through is the creation of generative AI, which can read, write and reason in a way that looks almost human when we squint. While there are limitless applications of this technology, the most clear application is using services like ChatGPT to read and write.

Revster is living at the intersection of these two huge shifts. In short, we believe that we can use the power of large language models to improve how remote teams work and align with each other.

We’ll be spending more time here talking about how to keep teams aligned and moving quickly in a remote work world.
